I used to live around 40 minutes away from Paris. One cold winter day I was going into my bed and I looked at the news, and they said that it was going to be a big snowstorm in Paris. Because Paris has 6 million people it is almost impossible to capture Paris with no footprints in the snow. In 40 years I had never been able to capture it. So I told my wife, "Let's get up". We got dressed and bundled up. And at midnight we went to a hotel that was close to the Eiffel Tower, and slept 3 hours. We got up right after the storm before people started walking in the snow. We rushed outside to find the air crisp and silent from the fresh snow. Classy Parisian lampposts glowed with warm light and guided us through Champ de Mars Park. We stepped closer and closer to the Eiffel Tower. When I saw this view of the Eiffel Tower framed between the trees and the glowing lamppost as the foreground element I knew I had the perfect composition. We were so happy we finally shot Paris without any footprint...

Ever since I was a kid I wanted to create pictures that people could enjoy. I remember in the 80's when I started seeing the first computer generated images I was amazed by the colors and the drama. I became a huge fan of the epic and dramatic look that you experience in Cinema. Movies like Gladiator, Gone with the Wind, The Matrix, Saving Private Ryan or Sherlock Holmes have such distinct drama with amazing sunsets, clouds and color themes. I know most of it is not real, but I still love it. Some of my photos are heavily retouched, some are not.
