Appenzell is in northeast Switzerland, near the Alpstein Mountains which includes Santis peak.
This was an incredible moment as the sun came above the horizon adding a warm glow of light to the landscape.
About Serge Ramelli
Ever since I was a kid I wanted to create pictures that people could enjoy. I remember in the 80's when I started seeing the first computer generated images I was amazed by the colors and the drama. I became a huge fan of the epic and dramatic look that you experience in Cinema. Movies like Gladiator, Gone with the Wind, The Matrix, Saving Private Ryan or Sherlock Holmes have such distinct drama with amazing sunsets, clouds and color themes. I know most of it is not real, but I still love it. Some of my photos are heavily retouched, some are not.
