This is the Mont Saint Michel in Normandy, France. The little man is Scott Kelby. There is a funny story about this photo. I had never been to Mont Saint Michel in my life, and Scott Kelby, an American, said, "You have never been to Mont Saint Michel? You're crazy, Serge! That is the best place in the world!" And so he arrived from Florida, and I picked him up. We drove 4 hours from Paris to the Mont Saint Michel, and all the way it was pouring rain. We arrived in Mont Saint Michel and we had the most incredible sunset, which is what you see here. And it was kind of like the gods were with us, just when we needed it, and everything cleared up. And we got this incredible shot. To this day this is my best shot of Mont Saint Michel.

Ever since I was a kid I wanted to create pictures that people could enjoy. I remember in the 80's when I started seeing the first computer generated images I was amazed by the colors and the drama. I became a huge fan of the epic and dramatic look that you experience in Cinema. Movies like Gladiator, Gone with the Wind, The Matrix, Saving Private Ryan or Sherlock Holmes have such distinct drama with amazing sunsets, clouds and color themes. I know most of it is not real, but I still love it. Some of my photos are heavily retouched, some are not.
